Founded in 1920, Pitney Bowes (Stamford, CT USA) opened for business with a seemingly simple, yet significant invention--the world's first U.S. Postal Department-approved postage meter.
A tradition of innovation enabled the company to continually optimize the meter to make mailing faster, easier, more cost-effective and safer, providing both small- and large-sized business customers all over the world with highly advanced mailing systems that offer postal discounts as well as the ability to track and trace, practically eliminating the need a trip to the post office.
Challenges
Pitney Bowes was trying to build a new series of inserter system with following unique advantages:
With a built in Productivity Tool Suite that provides operators and operations management with a clear view of system productivity
Contains simple graphics help operators make adjustments, identity problems and provide remedies
Provides proactive notify operators to schedule preventative maintenance
The system is to provide feedback to optimize material handing
With internal diagnostics verify system readiness and issues preventative warnings prior to job run
Allow remote online assistance from the technical team providing the most advanced system support in the industry
